Family owned and operated, Nova Heating & Sheet Metal Ltd has been proudly serving clients in the Vancouver area for more than 70 years.
Nova Heating’s founder Jack Ball worked in the North Vancouver shipyards during WWII designing turrets for gunships. In 1945 after the war, Jack started his plumbing and heating business on the Esplanade in Lower Lonsdale with a focus on coal and wood burning furnaces and, later on, oil furnaces.
When natural gas became mainstream in the late 50s and early 60s, Nova Heating grew rapidly, keeping pace with the development of North and West Vancouver.
In the early 1980s Jack retired and his son Darrell took over the business. Soon the boom of mid-efficiency gas furnaces and new housing saw Nova Heating grow in response. A decade later, Darrell downsized Nova to concentrate on service and installations.
In 2013 current owner Travis Ball took over Nova Heating from his father and introduced refrigeration (air conditioning) to the service portfolio. Since then Travis has forged relationships with custom homebuilders and focused on bringing new technology to the heating and cooling marketplace.
Nova Heating is now committed to providing for clients the most efficient, environmentally friendly products, including ductless inverter technology for both heating and cooling.
